Architecture and/of Terrorism
New York City, New York

Design in response to the destruction of the World Trade Center; with the understanding that large firms like SOM would eventually rebuild the site. It was decided that the design solution offered should be short term and provide for a need displaced by the destruction of the WTC. Using a magnetic-level train on tall towers above the site, a network of tracks are incorporated in order to replace the transit hub that was beneath the WTC. The stations, which are accessed from the street by elevator, will be removed once the site is rebuilt. Most lines connect to different bus, ferry, and subway stations; while one runs a loop around the ground zero site offering views of the demolition and later, the construction.
